Fredericktown pushed Loudonville to the wire Wednesday night but fell 44–41 in an overtime girls varsity conference matchup at Fredericktown High School.
The Freddies kept the game tight throughout regulation, using balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure to stay even with the Redbirds.
Fredericktown’s performance was notably supported by Mya Bryant, who entered the game with a strong scoring average and played a key role in keeping the Freddies competitive until the final moments. Loudonville responded with timely baskets late, preventing Fredericktown from gaining control in the closing minutes. The Redbirds then outscored the Freddies 7–4 in the extra period to secure the win.
It marked the second straight overtime battle between the two teams. Fredericktown had taken the first meeting, a 61–54 OT victory at Loudonville on Dec. 9, 2025.
Up next, Fredericktown travels to Northmor for a conference matchup Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7:15 p.m.
